Have you become nose blind to the odors in your home?
Tons of people become immune to the way their living quarters smell because it becomes “normal” in a sense (no pun intended). In reality, your house could be harboring the smell of your pets, kitchen odors, mustiness, etc! There’s been a study that people adapt to smells and eventually become less sensitive to the stinky ones that are encountered on a daily basis. For an example: Your local garbage man probably has no urge to pinch his nose after a few weeks on the job because he grows use to the smell. On the other hand, he may go home to his wife and get swatted away until he’s all showered.
So, what does your home REALLY smell like?
Let’s hope it’s not what your garbage man smells on his daily route. But are you sure there’s no lingering odors that your guest can smell immediately when entering your home? I was put to this test when I recently left my home to go out of town. That meant a few days with no candles burning or air fresheners. Upon returning, I realized that I could smell a light odor from my dogs and my kitchen’s garbage disposal! Yuck. Were these smells always there? Probably so! I wanted to tackle these odors quickly and effectively before my nose could fool me, again.
Pets smells are tough but manageable
First, grooming your pet to prevent a bad odor is essential! It’s also important to know the source of the smell and take action to stopping it. If your dog is house broken then it’s probably just the regular funk from bad breath and being outdoors. If it does happen to be urine, then it’s best to have a professional come and clean your carpet. For the Destin area, FusionCRS are experts in pinpointing exactly where are cuddly creatures decide to mark in our home. Those areas can be cleaned and treated but making sure they don’t go reclaim their territory is the hard part!
After a great cleaning, it’s all about maintenance. Luckily, Fusion allows their customers to purchase spotter bottles that can tackle odors and urine! These come in handy in-between cleanings and when you’re just doing your regular chores around the house. When you catch a spot here and there from your pet, tackle it quickly with Fusion’s Urine Spot Remover. Another tip for pet owners is to vacuum! Not just once a week, but daily. Shedding is common for most pets so if they have a smell then the carpet will hold that smell as well. Pet hair can be tricky! Use the hose on your vacuum to get in those small corners and crevices!
Fusion has a solution for your problem!
Each spotter has a specific purpose, but the odor eliminator and urine stain remover will be the best selection for home odors! The odor eliminator is one of our favorites because it doesn’t just hide the odor; it eliminates them at molecular level. Give Fusion a call 850-651-6600 to get assistance with odors that you can’t seem to get rid of on your own. Visit their Facebook to see the other solutions available for purchase as well!
FusionCRS is no stranger to witnessing the effects of a natural disaster and how much damage can be done. Helping the victims of Hurricane Harvey has been a priority of our company since the moment we heard about it. I realize that this storm may not have touched our community physically, but that shouldn’t stop anyone from helping to rebuild the lives and communities in Texas. It doesn’t matter who you are, where you’re from, what you believe in — our people are in need. It’s a tragedy that no one ever wants to go through. I watched the news for updates and kept thinking, “that could have been my home… my car… my family.” Here at FusionCRS, we can’t just sit back and watch. We encourage everyone, especially local business, to do what you can! FusionCRS will be working with Destin Harvest in efforts to raise money and donations that will go directly to the victims. We will be donating $500 worth of needed supplies and we encourage EVERYONE to help as well.
What can you do to help Hurricane Harvey Victims?
Any contribution helps – big or small! You may have noticed that there’s several organizations that are accepting donations. Do your research to be sure it’s legitimate. If you have any questions feel free to call our office at 850-651-6600. We can assist with making sure your donations get to the right place.
What should I donate?
The needed items has been provided by the governor of Texas and Mayor of Houston. They’re asking that these items be provided in backpacks. Either a used backpack in good condition or a cheap one from Walmart will do. If all you have are items, those will work too. Frost Jones is the point of contact for this initiative. She is establishing local drop off locations for the items. If you would like to provide items, or help in any way, please contact her directly at 850-502-0305.
It’s time to spring into spring cleaning!
Like a lot of our readers, I’m a parent. My biggest concerns with cleaning is what’s the safest, affordable, and satisfactory way to get things done. I’ve learned that some things I can swing myself and others I definitely have to leave to the professionals. Carpet and tile cleaning is something I keep FusionCRS on speed dial for. Sure, I could go rent a carpet cleaning machine or get on my hands and knees with a toothbrush to tackle my grout. But in reality, it’s waste of time and energy. Especially during spring cleaning when my list is already full of things that I have no choice to complete on my own. It’s a relief to know that trained technicians can come and knock out a job in a couple hours which would probably take me days (don’t judge – I’m a mom, ha!). There’s also so many benefits to choosing a professional clean. Don’t cut yourself short when deep cleaning this spring. Go all the way and reap the benefits of a clean, fresh home! After all, who doesn’t like to successfully clean their home from top to bottom? Let’s talk about the bottom though…
If you’re anything like me or if you live in Northwest Florida (Destin, Fort Walton Beach, Niceville, or surrounding areas) then you know the pollen has no mercy us on when spring arrives! You’ll see it on your car but did you know those same allergens are resting in the biggest filter of your home – CARPET. We track in dirt, bacteria, fungus, and so much more that gets the chance to nest on the same place that we stretch out on. This plays a big role in the health of your family. Just like the filter for your air conditioner needs to be changed, your carpet needs to be cleaned. FusionCRS encourages cleaning your carpet every six months in order to maintain and healthy indoor environment. This will also help with creating permanent damage from stain and traffic. Be sure to give them a call at 850-651-6600 and schedule today.
Stay tuned for more help with your spring cleaning this year!

What’s hiding in the grooves and crevices of your tile?
It’s a mystery that you should always get to the bottom of! FusionCRS is the master of solving all cleaning and restoration needs! Servicing Destin, Fort Walton Beach, Niceville, and the surrounding areas – we are known for our tile cleaning and providing amazing results. Professional tile cleanings by FusionCRS will extend the life of your investments, give your home a refreshed look, and provide cleanliness that can help with your family’s health.
Getting your tile and grout professionally cleaned is just as essential as your carpet cleanings. It’s easy to think that a good mop cleans your tile but that’s quite the opposite. Tiled areas see just as much dirt, germs, mildew, and even mold. The buildup of these components not only diminishes the appearance of your beautiful floors but also cause unhealthy conditions for you, your kids, and pets!
If you’ve never had a professional cleaning by FusionCRS then the time is now. Don’t wait until it’s too late. Be proactive and schedule your cleanings before you “see” the problem areas.
Have you ever dealt with water damage in your home or business? Unfortunately, sometimes we can’t predict when the toilet is going to overflow or a leaking sink. Proactive homeowners can prevent weather induced water damage with a little bit of TLC around the home. Thinking ahead and tending to potential problems before they happen can save you a lot of time and money! Read below for two areas of your home that you can tackle by yourself.
Roof – Your roof is the first contact in a downpour. With that being said, it’s important to always know the condition of your roof with periodic inspections. These should be done mainly after the winter season and before spring. It doesn’t always take a professional. If you’re equipped to safely access your roof to look for damaged areas and missing shingles – go for it. Did you know ONE missing shingle can be the entry for tons of water to damage your home?
Windows – Get your caulk gun ready! Through the seasons, you’ll find that your window sealant can wear away. Caulking is an easy fix that you’ll be happy you tended to. This task can be thrown on your ‘Spring Cleaning’ list in order to make sure you get it done every year before expected storms and heavy rain. Be sure to inspect the inside and outside of your windows! First time caulkers can find videos on YouTube to see exactly how it’s done. Don’t worry; it’s so easy that a first grade could handle this!
If you are dealing with water in the home, it’s best to NEVER ignore even what seems like a little damage. This can lead to bigger problems and more money in repairs. If you’re in the Northwest Florida area of: Destin, Navarre, Niceville, Valparaiso, Fort Walton Beach or surrounding areas then please give FusionCRS a call so we can assist you with your cleaning and restoration needs! 850-651-6600.
